Are you struggling to keep your iPhone’s memory clutter-free? Whether it’s capturing life’s moments through snapshots and videos or accumulating an impressive app collection, it’s not uncommon to find your device’s storage reaching its limits. Fear not—there are several tricks to enhance your iPhone’s storage without compromising on keeping what’s important. Let’s find ways together to increase iPhone storage.

How to Free Up iPhone Storage?

#1 Clear Browser Cache

Here’s how you can quickly free up some valuable storage on your iPhone by clearing browser caches from Safari or Chrome. Doing this little bit of digital housekeeping could potentially give your phone a boost in performance and save more space than you might expect.

Easily Clear Your Safari Browser Cache:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Scroll down to Safari and tap it.
  3. Tap on ‘Clear History and Website Data’ to remove stored cache files.

For Chrome Users, Here’s What You Need to Do:

  1. Launch the Chrome app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap on the three dots (Options), then select ‘Settings’.
  3. Navigate to ‘Privacy and security’.
  4. Choose ‘Clear Browsing Data’.
  5. Check the options for the data you want to delete and hit ‘Clear Browsing Data’.

#2 Clean Up Your Photo Library

After examining your iPhone’s storage suggested in the preceding steps, it’s often clear that the primary culprit occupying space is typically the Photos app (yes, we’re looking at your extensive collection). Now, completely purging your entire photo gallery isn’t a viable solution, but there is likely some content that you can eliminate without a second thought:

  • Redundant images, such as the ones accidentally downloaded more than once
  • Multiple, nearly identical photographs (think of the cluster of attempts before you nailed that perfect selfie)
  • Snapshots of ephemeral information—whiteboards, notes, receipts.

To avoid doing all this manually and waste a lot of time, you can use smart cleaning. To clean up more memory on your device, run CleanUp and spend a couple of minutes asking the question. If you run iPhone storage cleaner up, the application will find all similar images, failed duplicates and similar junk. In this case, you not only free up space, but also boost your phone and save your time.

#3 Delete Attachments in Messages

Text messaging encompasses more than mere text; it involves the exchange of multimedia elements such as images, animations, brief video clips, and other rich media content. Such materials accumulate within your Apple iPhone’s memory, notwithstanding whether you choose to save them to your gallery, thus potentially leading to substantial storage consumption.

To effectively liberate memory space on your iPhone by deleting attachments within the Messages application, follow the subsequent procedure:

  1. Navigate to the ‘Settings’ of your iPhone, proceed to ‘General’, and then select ‘iPhone Storage’.
  2. Within the list that appears, descend to and select ‘Messages’.
  3. A categorical breakdown will be presented, displaying ‘Top Conversations’, ‘Photos’, ‘GIFs and Stickers’, and ‘Other’. Click the pertinent category that indicates the largest occupancy of space. It is pivotal to remember that, within ‘Top Conversations’, selecting to delete will result in the removal of entire chat threads rather than solely their attachments. If the preference is to avoid this, targeting ‘Photos’ and other types of content is advisable.
  4. Tap on ‘Edit’, located in the top-right corner of your screen.
  5. Select all items you wish to expunge.
  6. To finalize the removal process, tap the ‘Trash’ icon.

#4 Clear App Cache and Other App Data

Modern applications do not typically allow users to directly manage their cache or other stored data, which can include credentials for ease of access. If one were to delve into the iPhone Storage section within an iPhone’s Settings, particularly at the apps occupying the most space, they might uncover a considerable amount of storage tagged as “Documents and Data.” To free up space on your iPhone by clearing such app data, here’s what you need to do:

  1. Prior to beginning this process, it is crucial to verify that you have recorded your application login details or have them securely stored for subsequent use.
  2. Navigate to “Settings” then select “General” followed by “iPhone Storage”. There, select any application, often social media platforms like Facebook or Snapchat, messaging services, or multimedia apps such as YouTube or Spotify, that is listed towards the top due to higher space usage.
  3. Choose “Delete App” to remove the application.
  4. Revisit the App Store to download and install the application anew.

#5 Delete text messages

To efficiently clean up your inbox and bulk delete messages, focus on emails from unfamiliar sources. Here’s how you can easily do just that:

  1. Navigate to the ‘Unknown Senders’ option within your messaging app.
  2. In this view, look for the three-dot menu icon at the top of the screen and tap it.
  3. From the dropdown menu, select ‘Select Messages’.
  4. Choose ‘Select all’ to highlight all the messages in this category.
  5. Carefully review the selected messages to ensure no important ones are included. If you find any, simply unselect these to keep them safe.
  6. Once confirmed, press the ‘Delete’ button to remove the unwanted messages permanently.

Conclusion

Test yourself, how to get more space on an iPhone without much effort on your part? If you at least remembered the cleaning application and a couple of other tricks, you are ready to continue working with your smartphone, even in conditions of memory shortage.
